38979 (2026). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for the Environment: Did she or her officials meet with any organisation regarding the proposed phase-out of PVC, polystyrene and PVdC in food and beverage packaging between 7 April 2026 and 25 August 2026?

Hon Nicola Grigg: On 24 June 2026 my officials and I met Fonterra to discuss a range of environmental matters. Fonterra were supportive of the proposed plastic-phase outs subject to a sufficient implementation time for industry. On 25 June 2026 my officials and I also met with The Packaging Forum who sought an update on the wider waste work programme, including waste legislation amendments, work related to product stewardship, and the plastic phase outs.
