Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology: What consultations are the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, planning to open on the week beginning Monday 11 August 2025 with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and when is any such consultation expected to close?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: As Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology, I have no responsibility for any government departments. In regard to agencies, crown entities, and other bodies, I am that the New Zealand Institute for Earth Science Limited began consultation with staff on the Leadership Structure on 12 August, with consultations expected to close at 9am on Wednesday 27 August 2025.
