38862 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Police: How much was the total cost in New Zealand dollar terms, if any, of redundancy processes initiated, if any, in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, since 27 November 2023?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that between 27 November 2023 and 31 August 2026, Police had 208 redundancies, which amounted to $12,817,643.93.
Between 27 November 2023 and 2 September 2026, the Serious Fraud Office did not pay any redundancy compensation to staff.
The Serious Fraud Office initiated one change process, resulting in 11 roles being disestablished and four permanent staff being made redundant.
