38853 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Local Government: How much, if any, was spent in the 2023/24 financial year in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, on artificial intelligence, including costs on training staff, deploying systems, maintaining subscriptions and any other associated costs?

Hon Simon Watts: The Water Services Authority – Taumata Arowai did not spend money on artificial intelligence in the 2023/24 financial year. The Local Government Commission was hosted within the Department of Internal Affairs during the 2023/24 financial year. I refer the Member to question 38735 (2026).
