Hon Chris Bishop: The total cost of redundancy processes initiated by the former Ministry of Housing and Urban Development since 27 November 2023 is $2,964,750. Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities advises me that it has incurred expenditure of $37,145,582 in relation to redundancy payments initiated since 27 November 2023. These costs have been incurred as Kāinga Ora reshapes its organisation and workforce to support its back-to-basics focus on providing and managing social housing in a more cost-effective and financially sustainable way.
