Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Agriculture: How much was the total cost in New Zealand dollar terms, if any, of redundancy processes initiated, if any, in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, since 27 November 2023?

Hon Todd McClay: Corrected reply: I am advised that, between 27 November 2023 and 3 September 2026, there have been 122 redundancies at the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), the total cost of which has been $5,677,603. The majority of these payments are the result of MPI’s ‘Improving our Efficiency’ change process that took place in 2023/34.
