Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised the Ministry of Education does not hold contractor and consultant cost data in a manner that allows separation of consultancy costs in the time available to answer a written parliamentary question. The total cost for contractors and consultants from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025 is publicly available on the Public service Commission’s website here: https://www.publicservice.govt.nz/data/workforce-data/public-sector-composition/workforce-size. Education New Zealand spent $181,904 on consultancy costs from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025. The Education Review Office spent $1.365 million on consultancy costs from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025. The New Zealand Qualifications Authority spent $3,558,836 on consultancy costs from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025.
