38672 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Corrections: How much, if any, was spent in the 2023/24 financial year in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, on artificial intelligence, including costs on training staff, deploying systems, maintaining subscriptions and any other associated costs?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that during the 2023/24 and 2024/25 financial years, Corrections had access to CoPilot Chat which forms part of a standard Microsoft M365 licence. I am further advised that it is not possible to extract the cost of the AI component of Microsoft desktop licences as the AI element is provided within a package of software desktop applications that includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams. This is also my response to WPQ 38673 (2026).
