38669 (2025). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Prime Minister: Did the Chief Executive of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet have any correspondence or engagement with the Police Commissioner prior to Richard Chambers emailing Ben King on 20 June 2025 asking to talk?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: The Chief Executive of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) regularly speaks to his chief executive colleagues on a range of matters. The Police Commissioner was also present at the National Security Board meeting on 21 May 2025 when the redesignation of the American Proud Boys was considered. I am advised that DPMC has proactively released documents relating to the designation of the American Proud Boys that expired under section 29B of the Terrorism Suppression Act 2002 on 19 June 2025.
