38654 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Agriculture: How much, if any, did the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, spend on consultancy costs, from 1 July 2025 - 30 June 2026?

Hon Todd McClay: I am advised that Ministry for Primary Industries operating and capital expenditure on contractors and consultants in 2025/26 was $8.7 million. This is approximately a 40 percent decrease from the $14.7 million spent on contractors and consultants in the previous financial year.
