Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised that it is too soon to say what specific activities might be enabled on parts of the conservation estate through these reforms. All applicants will benefit from having more clarity, consistency and certainty around concessions, as well as more efficient processes for managing conservation land use. Where activities are not expressly dealt with in the National Conservation Policy Statement and area plans, applications to undertake the activity will continue to be subject to individual assessment by the Department of Conservation.
