38530 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: How, if at all, will the Government ensure data privacy and security for motorists using electronic road user charges devices and services?

Hon Chris Bishop: The Road User Charges Act 2012 provides safeguards regarding information sharing and privacy. As part of future work, the government will ensure that the regulations and a Code of Practice protect motorists' personal and location data from misuse.
