38516 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: What data-sharing arrangements, if any, will exist between private electronic road user charges providers and NZTA, and how, if at all, will motorists’ personal and location data be protected from misuse or commercial exploitation?

Hon Chris Bishop: The Road User Charges Act 2012 already provides safeguards relating to the information that can be shared to protect motorists' privacy. Work will be done to ensure that regulations and the Code of Practice continue to protect consumers.
