38386 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: How, if at all, are the Minister's departments, if any, currently using AI, and what plans, if any, have been developed to manage the risks associated with AI?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: I am advised that Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade staff may use external AI tools in line with Ministry guidance and the Ministry Information and ICT Acceptable Use Policies. The Ministry has also established a working group that will review and, if necessary, strengthen the Ministry’s information, technology and information security processes to manage the risks associated with AI.
