38381 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Will road user charges increase by amounts equivalent to each scheduled fuel excise duty increase under the new schedule; if so, what are the rate changes by vehicle type and on what dates will they apply?

Hon Chris Bishop: Rates for all road user charges categories will increase by amounts equivalent to the increase in fuel excise duty. They will apply on the same day as fuel excise duty changes come into effect.
