38374 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Statistics: Since 27 November 2023, how many staff, if any, at ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible have been made redundant, broken down by month and by (a) voluntary redundancy, and (b) all other forms of redundancy, and of those staff, how many, if any have subsequently been appointed to a new role at the same ministry, agency or department, broken down by employment status (contractor, consultant, permanent, part time) as at 4 August 2025?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that since 27 November 2003, a total of 171 Stats NZ staff have been made redundant. Of this total figure, 88 accepted voluntary redundancy and 83 were other forms of redundancy. I am also advised that, since 27 November 2023, three employees who either accepted voluntary redundancy, or were made redundant since 27 November 2023, were re-appointed by Stats NZ.
