38361 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Health: How many staff, if any, made redundant at ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023 were reappointed either directly (i.e., without a competitive process) or after reapplying through a competitive recruitment process, as at 4 August 2025?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that 33 staff members who were made redundant from Health New Zealand were reappointed either directly, or after reapplying through a competitive recruitment process. I also refer the Member to Written Parliamentary Question 8103 (2025) for the period 27 November 2023 to 14 March 2025. Since this date, no further staff who were previously made redundant have been reappointed to the Ministry of Health.
