38356 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Economic Growth: Since 27 November 2023, how many staff, if any, at ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible have been made redundant, broken down by month and by (a) voluntary redundancy, and (b) all other forms of redundancy, and of those staff, how many, if any have subsequently been appointed to a new role at the same ministry, agency or department, broken down by employment status (contractor, consultant, permanent, part time) as at 4 August 2025?
Hon Nicola Willis: I am advised that the attached table provides a breakdown of redundancies at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment between 27 November 2023 and 31 July 2025.
I am also advised that of the total redundancies, six staff were rehired into a mixture of permanent, fixed term and contractor roles. The breakdown by employment type is withheld to protect the privacy of natural persons, due to the small number of employees.
With regard to New Zealand Growth Capital Partners, I am advised that NZGCP made less than five staff redundant during the period as part of an organisational restructure. Further details are withheld to protect the privacy of natural persons. I am advised none were reappointed.
