Camilla Belich to the Attorney-General: Since 27 November 2023, how many staff, if any, at ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible have been made redundant, broken down by month and by (a) voluntary redundancy, and (b) all other forms of redundancy, and of those staff, how many, if any have subsequently been appointed to a new role at the same ministry, agency or department, broken down by employment status (contractor, consultant, permanent, part time) as at 4 August 2025?

Hon Judith Collins: Three Parliamentary Counsel Office employees were made redundant in that period, two in 2024 and one in 2025. There were no voluntary redundancies during that period and none of the individuals have subsequently been reappointed. Ten Crown Law employees were made redundant in that period, four in 2024 and six in 2025. None of these individuals have been subsequently appointed to a new role at Crown Law. There were no voluntary redundancies during that period and none of the individuals have subsequently been reappointed. Due to the small number of staff, providing the breakdown by month would breach individuals’ privacy.
