Camilla Belich to the Prime Minister: How many staff, if any, made redundant at ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023 were reappointed either directly (i.e., without a competitive process) or after reapplying through a competitive recruitment process, as at 4 August 2025?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the responsible Minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is a departmental agency hosted by DPMC. I am advised that as of 4 August 2025, no DPMC or NEMA staff members that were made redundant have been reappointed either directly (i.e., without a competitive process) or after reapplying through a competitive recruitment process since 27 November 2023.
