38315 (2024). Hūhana Lyndon to the Minister of Health: How many graduate nurses were recruited into the Nursing Entry to Practice programme each year over the last 5 years?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised by Health New Zealand that 8,195 graduates nurses were employed between 2019 and 2023 via the Advanced Choice of Employment (ACE) process. This includes the Nurse Entry to Practice, Nursing Entry to Practice Service, and Nurse to Entry Specialist programmes. The number of nurse graduates employed in each of the past five calendar years are: 2019- 1504 2020- 1563 2021- 1610 2022- 1622 2023- 1896
