Camilla Belich to the Minister for Māori Crown Relations: Te Arawhiti: How many staff, if any, made redundant at ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023 were reappointed either directly (i.e., without a competitive process) or after reapplying through a competitive recruitment process, as at 4 August 2025?

Hon Tama Potaka: This question relates to a period before and after the transfer of the Māori Crown Relations functions from Te Arawhiti to Te Puni Kōkiri on 24 February 2025. For the period since 27 November 2023 until 23 February 2025 I am advised that Te Puni Kōkiri consulted Ministry of Justice as it does not hold this information. The Ministry of Justice reply is Te Arawhiti is incorporated in the answer by my colleague the Minister of Justice to the same question.
