Hon Brooke van Velden: Department of Internal Affairs: I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs (the Department) that the information to identify whether contractors or consultants have been previously employed by the Department is not available. The Department does not capture any information in the procurement process that could be used to identify former employees other than the consultant or contractor’s name or business name. Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fire and Emergency): I am advised by Fire and Emergency NZ that since 27 November 2023 it has spent $1,818,717 on 12 contractors and consultants previously employed by the organisation. The breakdown of this spending is in the attached table. Classification Office: I am advised by the Classification Office that since 27 November 2023 it has spent $75,487.50 on one contractor previously employed by the organisation.
