Hon Brooke van Velden: Department of Internal Affairs: I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs (the Department) that, since 27 November 2023, two employees who were made redundant have subsequently been re-employed by the Department—one in a fixed-term position and the other in a permanent position. In line with the Department’s recruitment policy, the applicant was appointed to this permanent position after a competitive recruitment process. The role they were appointed to is substantially different from their previous role. The fixed-term position was for a period of less than six months, so there was no requirement to advertise the role. Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fire and Emergency): None.
