Camilla Belich to the Minister of Education: Since 27 November 2023, what is the total sum, if any, spent on wages for any contractors and consultants who have been previously employed in a different capacity at any ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible, broken down by month, as at 4 August 2025?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) that four contractors who were previously employed in a different capacity at the Ministry fit the criteria of this question. The Ministry is not able to provide a total spent on wages in the time available for responding to written parliamentary questions. Since 27 November 2023, the total sum of known payments to contractors and consultants previously employed in a different capacity at the New Zealand Qualifications Authority is $15,818.46. To protect the privacy of individuals, payments by month cannot be provided. Education New Zealand and Education Review Office have not engaged any contractors or consultants between 27 November 2023 and 4 August 2025 who have been previously employed at the same agency.
