Camilla Belich to the Minister of Education: Since 27 November 2023, how many staff, if any, at ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible have been made redundant, broken down by month and by (a) voluntary redundancy, and (b) all other forms of redundancy, and of those staff, how many, if any have subsequently been appointed to a new role at the same ministry, agency or department, broken down by employment status (contractor, consultant, permanent, part time) as at 4 August 2025?

Hon Erica Stanford: I refer the Member to the attached tables, showing the breakdown of staff made redundant between 27 November 2023 and 4 August 2025 and those staff that have been appointed to a new role at the same Ministry/agency, broken down by their employment type. I am advised the Education Review Office has made one redundancy payment since 27 November 2023. None of the employees made redundant at Education New Zealand or the Education Review Office have been appointed to a new role at the same agency.
