38267 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Defence: Since 27 November 2023, what is the total sum, if any, spent on wages for any contractors and consultants who have been previously employed in a different capacity at any ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible, broken down by month, as at 4 August 2025?

Hon Judith Collins: For NZDF - Between 27 November 2023 and 4 August 2025, 333 contractors were former Regular Force personnel and/or civilian staff. Financial costs for these individuals are not centrally recorded by the NZDF. For Ministry of Defence - Since 27 November 2023, the Ministry of Defence has not engaged any contractors or consultants that were previously employed by the Ministry. I am advised the Ministry does not hold data on whether they were previously employed at any other organisations for which the Minister is responsible.
