38246 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Children: Since 27 November 2023, how many staff, if any, at ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible have been made redundant, broken down by month and by (a) voluntary redundancy, and (b) all other forms of redundancy, and of those staff, how many, if any have subsequently been appointed to a new role at the same ministry, agency or department, broken down by employment status (contractor, consultant, permanent, part time) as at 4 August 2025?

Hon Karen Chhour: I refer the Member to the attached table for the number of Oranga Tamariki staff made redundant or took voluntary redundancy between 27 November 2023 and 4 August 2025. I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that, of those who accepted voluntary redundancy, six were subsequently employed on a fixed-term basis, and four were subsequently employed in permanent roles. I am further advised that, of those who were made redundant, nine were subsequently employed on a fixed-term basis, six were subsequently employed in permanent role and one was employed on a casual basis.
