38229 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Associate Minister of Education: How many, if any, prosecutions against parents/caregivers of absent students this year have occurred?

Hon David Seymour: In June 2025, the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) launched a strengthened process for prosecutions for non-attendance. I am advised that the Ministry has not yet undertaken any prosecutions for non-attendance under this process.
