38147 (2025). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What operational changes, if any, are being considered to increase remand prisoners’ access to services and programmes during the month of July 2025?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that following the drawdown of tagged contingency funding to extend rehabilitative services to people on remand after 1 July 2025 as provided for under Budget 2024, and in line with the Coalition Government’s Q3 Action Plan, Corrections will start delivery of offence-focused rehabilitation services to remand convicted prisoners by 30 September 2025. I am further advised that Corrections will start extending other non-offence-focused rehabilitation and reintegration services to all people on remand this quarter.
