Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery: What advice, reports, briefings, aid memoires or any other documents, if any, has the Minister received during the last 30 days concerning responses to flooding and extreme weather events in the Auckland region, by date and title?
Hon Mark Mitchell: As the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery, I regularly request and receive advice from officials on a range of matters relating to my Emergency Management and Recovery portfolio.
In my capacity as the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery, I received the following documents from officials in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) within the last 30 days:
• $2 million Storm Readiness Announcement in Auckland, 24 May – 21/05/2024
• North Island Weather Events: Progress Update on Categorisation and Buyouts, Sediment and Debris – 23/05/2024
• North Island Weather Events: Progress Update on Categorisation, Buyouts, Sediment and Debris, Infrastructure and Local Transport Projects – 31/05/2024
• Cyclone Recovery Unit Fortnightly Report – 31/05/2024
• North Island Weather Event: Progress Update on Categorisation and Buyouts, Sediment and Debris – 06/06/2024
• North Island Weather Event: Progress Update on Categorisation and Buyouts, Sediment and Debris – 14/06/2024
• Cyclone Recovery Unit Fortnightly Report – 14/06/2024.
In addition, staff in my office may informally receive documents, including draft documents, from officials in DPMC and the National Emergency Management Agency, from other agencies, and from Ministers’ offices.
