Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised by NZTA that effects that were assessed for mitigation as part of Ō2NL, as is typical with other large highway projects, include: • Cultural • Transportation • Noise and vibration • Air quality • Landscape and visual • Natural character • Social • Hydrology, groundwater and surface water • Contaminated land • Ecology • Archaeology and built heritage • Productive land • Economic • Property, network utilities and infrastructure • Natural hazards NZTA estimates that the cost of environmental mitigation measures to be $90 million.
