37898 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: Does the Minister agree with Pip Tinning from the Association of Teachers of English who said lack of communication about who was involved with the rewriting the English curriculum work and its aims was worrying; if not, why not?

Hon Erica Stanford: I agree with Pip Tinning that communication is going to be critical to the curriculum refresh across all subjects being successful. This is why I have ensured that in planning for the refresh work the Ministry will be providing a number of opportunities for consultation with teachers and the wider education sector. The English curriculum work is in its early stages. There will be consultation and opportunities for feedback from the sector to take place before the curriculum is finalised for implementation.
