37860 (2026). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: How many calendar days elapsed between the receipt of the aluminium-extrusions safeguard application and the initiation of the associated safeguard investigation, if any?

Cameron Brewer: MBIE received the application for a safeguard investigation into aluminium extrusions on 21 January 2026. Following MBIE’s assessment of the application, I was provided with advice on 14 May recommending a safeguard investigation be initiated. I initiated the investigation on 28 May.
