37796 (2024). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: What are all of the Kāinga Ora activities that were funded through an appropriation in the 2023/24 Budget, if any, that received no funding through appropriations in the 2024/25 Budget?

Hon Chris Bishop: As previously announced, the First Home grants scheme administered by Kāinga Ora has been closed. There is residual funding in the appropriation to pay for existing commitments. In addition, as I responded to the Standard Estimates Questions, the Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities Appropriation has reduced by $26 million to $57 million as a result of Budget 24 decision. It is expected that Kāinga Ora will still be able to discharge its responsibilities within the new funding envelopes and Kāinga Ora is currently undertaking internal change processes to make this happen.
