37694 (2026). Mike Davidson to the Minister of Internal Affairs: Does the Minister agree with her official, Deputy National Commander at FENZ Megan Stiffler, that professional firefighters put the public at risk by undertaking industrial action?

Hon Brooke van Velden: Yes, industrial action puts the public at increased risk. Examples include the Northcote College fire in Auckland, the Pita House shop fire in Pakuranga, and a house fire in Caversham.
