37671 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Does the Minister agree with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Commission's recommendation, from the Kua Timata Te Haerenga five-year monitoring report, that the government funds a "planned programme of work to collect mental health and addiction prevalence data" by June 2025; if so, any plans for this?
Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that New Zealand has not had a mental health and substance use prevalence study since 2006, which surveyed people from the age of 15. I am further advised that work is currently underway to consider what tools would be appropriate to survey children and young people.
