37643 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister for Food Safety: Has Ministry for Primary Industries engaged or intervened in instances of 50/50 beef heart and beef trim mince blend being used or disclosed?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: New Zealand Food Safety (NZFS) provided advice on ensuring product information (for example, that the mince contains heart) is made available on the School Lunch Collective website, and for schools to be informed prior to meals being served. NZFS has not identified any instances in which 50/50 beef heart and beef trim mince has been used and incorrectly disclosed.
