Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 on the proposed action ‘implementation of standardised business rhythm principles by the end of January 2024’ under ‘Strategic Priority Area 5: Driving operational improvement’ within Te Whatu Ora’s ‘Acute Care Plan 2024’?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that in the quarter January to March 2024, an integrated operations centres working group was established by Health New Zealand. The working group developed Integrated operations centre (IOC) definitions, principles and a national escalation framework. I am also advised that a standard daily operating rhythm for hospitals to support hospital flow was developed and agreed across regions.
