Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 toward the recommendation ‘Monitoring and performance framework for Tiriti responsive co-governance’ in Te Whatu Ora’s ‘BreastScreen Aotearoa Quality Improvement Action Plan’?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that since April 2024 Health New Zealand has made some progress towards the recommendation ‘Monitoring and performance framework for Tiriti responsive co-governance’ in the ‘BreastScreen Aotearoa (BSA) Quality Improvement Action Plan. I am advised that Health NZ started the procurement process for research to be undertaken to determine what would be needed to achieve equitable breast cancer survival rates. I am also advised that Health NZ updated the BSA National Policy and Quality Standards to align with Ngā Paerewa Health and Disability service standards.
