37545 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken to sustain support for internationally-qualified nurses (IQNs) to practice in Aotearoa, through supporting them with their Competency Assessment Programmes?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that between 1 July 2023 and 30 April 2024, Internationally Qualified Nurses were supported via the competency assessment programme (CAP) refund programme. On 31 May 2024, changes were made to this programme to target funding to in-need areas.
