37475 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister responsible for the NZSIS: Did the Minister have any meetings with FBI Director Kash Patel, and if so, when did they occur and what topics were discussed?

Hon Judith Collins: As Minister Responsible for the NZSIS, I can confirm that I did meet with FBI Director Kash Patel. I attended the opening ceremony for the FBI’s upgraded Wellington office at the US Embassy on 31 July 2025, which was opened by Director Patel. Director Patel and I discussed a range of national security issues relevant to both New Zealand and the United States, such as regional security, trans-national organised crime, counter-terrorism, cyber-security and espionage. I consider it is not in the public interest for me to provide further details.
