37393 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: Who has contacted Reading Recovery teachers and offered them retraining in structured literacy approaches?

Hon Erica Stanford: The Ministry of Education invited Reading Recovery teachers, along with all teachers in state and integrated schools, to apply for training in structured literacy approaches through the Ministry’s Professional Learning and Development website at https://pld.education.govt.nz/ and the Education Bulletin, He Pitopito Kōrero at https://bulletins.education.govt.nz/. The Ministry also sent a factsheet to all schools that have active Reading Recovery staffing. The factsheet included information on the future of Reading Recovery and its reprioritised funding, as well as opportunities for Reading Recovery staff to undertake further professional training. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 37394 (2024).
