37371 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: Will the Minister consider increasing support payment rates, if any, to help people who need to move house and are faced with increased housing costs, and if not, why not?

Hon Louise Upston: From 1 April 2027, Accommodation Supplement maximum rates are scheduled to increase by between $10 and $30 per week across all household types and regions. Housing Support Products may also be available to assist eligible households with the costs of moving into new accommodation. These include one-off recoverable payments to assist with tenancy bonds, accommodation costs in advance and moving costs.
