37364 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Health: How many staff, if any, in headcount terms did the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, have on 1 July 2022 and how many of these staff, if any, were union members?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that as at 30 June 2022, the Ministry of Health had a total headcount of 897. Of these, 319 Ministry of Health staff were union members. As 1 July 2022 was the day that Health NZ was established, an accurate headcount of staff as at 1 July 2022 is not available.
