37333 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: Did the minister consult with the New Zealand Law Society, or any other persons or bodies prior to the passing of the new fees regulations notified in Gazette Notice 2024-sl2425 in respect of the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act (Disciplinary Tribunal) Amendment Regulations 2024?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I consulted with my Ministerial colleagues about the change to regulations and my officials undertook consultation with relevant government agencies. The Chief Justice was also informed of the proposal. Due to time constraints and Budget sensitivity, wider consultation on the regulations was not undertaken.
