Hon Mark Mitchell: I refer the Member to the attached table, which shows the active headcount of salaried staff employed by New Zealand Police and the Serious Fraud Office as at 1 July for each year from 2020 to 2025. These numbers are broken down into Constabulary (including authorised officers) and Other Police Employees (OPEs). Union membership is also provided, with staff able to be members of the Police Association, the Public Service Association (PSA), or the Managers Guild Casual staff, contractors, and staff on leave without pay or parental leave are excluded from these figures. This is also my response to Written Parliamentary Questions 37263 37267 37268 37269 37271 (2025).
