37230 (2024). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: How many staff at Corrections are working in frontline roles, as of 31 May 2024?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Corrections’ recruitment campaign is ongoing and have been assured that hiring and training frontline staff, who manage approximately 9,600 people in prison and 26,000 people in the community, remains a top priority for Corrections. I am further advised that Corrections recently transitioned to a new structure on 1 April 2024 which changed how frontline and back-office are categorised. As at 31 May 2024, Corrections staff were working in 9,112.14 FTE frontline roles.
