37220 (2026). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: What was the appointments process, if any, for each new appointment to the Teaching Council?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am supported by the Ministry of Education to complete the required steps in the appointment process. This includes publication of notices, collation of information on candidates and assessments of their skillsets, and completion of due diligence including probity checks. Once these steps are completed, my proposed appointments are discussed at the Cabinet Appointments and Honours Committee ahead of confirmation by Cabinet.
