37152 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Statistics: What automated approvals, if any, are currently operating either with or without human oversight within the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any?

Hon Scott Simpson: None. I am advised that Stats NZ uses some automated business process such as recruitment, leave management, and security risk management that automate routing, notification, tracking and record keeping functions but that approval decisions are made by authorised staff.
